Overview

The Sprocks IR Generator introduces a new approach to managing the audio and video systems in a home or business environment.  By separating the generation of the infrared signal from the user interface, new levels of capability and accessibility are enabled.

The Sprocks IR Generator, shown to the right, creates a bridge between the Internet and your home entertainment systems.  Based on ethernet/Internet technology, you can remotely control system components that are normally controlled with an infrared remote control.  The IR Generator  is capable of generating Infrared Codes for almost all remote control systems on the market today.  Unlike other IR systems such as the Phillips Pronto, the IR Generator separates the user interface from the IR code generation.  In fact, the IR Generator does not include a graphical user interface, instead it relies on standard Internet web technology.  Some examples of the powerful capabilities of this architecture are shown with examples.  More importantly, it allows systems to be controlled from any device that is capable of generating standard Internet web requests.  Devices can include computers, PDAs such as the iPaq, tablet PCs, laptops even cell phones.
